Fried Beef Lungs

Last Saturday, we decided to go to another market which was located in the 10th District.  Most of the halal meat were being sold by Egyptian butchers instead of Turkish.  We discovered that the market were cleaner and the meat on display was very fresh.

From one of the butchers we saw that he had this fresh looking lungs on the counter.  I wanted half portion of the lungs but he insisted that I took the whole lot, therefore, I did and it was only 1 kg.  Hence, in this entry I will share with you how to cook Fried Beef Lungs.
Very fresh beef lung, cleaned and washed
In a large pot add water and salt, and put on medium high stove

Let the lungs boil for at least an hour
Rinse the boiled lung and drain it in a colander, and let it cool down
Sliced them into thin pieces
Marinate them with coriander, fennel and cumin seed powder, and salt to taste

Finally deep fry in very hot oil for about 5 minutes or till they are crispy
