Garlic Sauce Spaghetti

My favorite pasta

This is the simplest and the easiest pasta ever to cook.  It took less than 15 minutes and you can cook extra to be served at any time that you like.  Here's how it is done for anyone interested to try.

Ingredients
Half a box of spaghetti, loads of crush garlic, butter, olive oil, chopped fresh parsley, parmesan cheese, salt and black pepper to taste.

Method
Boil the spaghetti al dente (save approximately quarter cup of the water).  In a heavy bottom pan on medium heat, combine the olive oil and butter together (I do not have a specific measurement, just follow your taste), once butter is melted add in the crush garlic and let it fry till fragrant, then add in the spaghetti and the quarter cup of water.  Let it cook for about five minutes, add in the chopped fresh parsley, salt and pepper.  Served hot with parmesan cheese.

Simple and delicious.

Walking On The Light

I met Tutie like I met many other Indonesian here through the mosque gathering, as well as the ladies ‘yasin’ group. There was something about her that oozes confident, vibrant and friendliness. She was the motivator for a couple of occasion at the mosque activities. We got talking, we got to know each other better, we exchanged telephone contacts, become Facebook friends, etc etc. Little did I realized that in this petite little lady there were so much going on, in fact too much for a young mind and a mother of two to endure, but Tutie being Tutie was forever smiling, and no one knows what’s cooking inside her. I was proud to be that confidante. Now Tutie had gone back to Indonesia for good, saying goodbye to her was not easy. We hold on to each other a little longer, not knowing when we will be seeing each other again. I wish you all the best in your life forward Tutie and till we meet again, may you be strong.

For your kind information Tutie is also a co-writer in this book title: “Berjalan Di Atas Cahaya”

Please Pray For Her Well Being

We were all shocked when told that our head of the ‘yasin’ group here was ill and warded. News had it that she had some water surrounding her heart, causing her to have difficulty in breathing as well as swallowing. However, further test results revealed that, she has now been diagnosed with 4th stage of liver cancer. Please join me in praying for her well being and may she be strong in going through this cycle of her life.

Barrett's Oesophagus

On the first day of Ramadan, a mail came in the post for me. It was from the hospital informing me of the pathology finding of my gastro examination. It was reported that I now have Barrett's oesophagus.

Barrett's oesophagus, sometimes called Barrett syndrome or columnar epithelium lined lower oesophagus (CELLO), refers to an abnormal change (metaplasia) in the cells of the lower portion of the esophagus. When the normal squamous epithelium lining of the esophagus is replaced by goblet cells (cells usually found lower in the gastrointestinal tract), Barrett's esophagus is diagnosed. The medical significance of Barrett esophagus is its strong association with esophageal adenocarcinoma, a particularly lethal cancer. I have an appointment to do a colonoscopy in October, but now I have been requested to bring this forward ASAP.

It Is Organic After All

Every summer, I look forward to standing in the queue at this more than tiny ice cream salon. There is only one such salon here and it is standing strong in competition with the many other big salon. It is organic after all.

I Was The Lucky One

On a crowded bus ride, someone got up and gave me her seat. I was very impressed, first time ever a lady gave up her seat for me. At the same time I cannot help thinking that could I have already reach the senior citizen group, or do I look that pathetic to warrant such sympathy, or the perspiration on my face deem me to be such a sick person that need the assistance, or all of the above. Hubby laughed at me and my little angel thought that that lady was so sweet, and me I was the lucky one. Thank you Allah

Reflect

Before labeling anyone as STUPID, LIARS and IDIOTS, please get yourself a huge mirror and stand in front of that mirror on an hourly or daily basis and reflect. Then, maybe just maybe you will know who the real stupid, liars and idiots could be…………………
